Turning wood to obtain fire "was an important milestone in the early human learning to use fire. By using this method, humans can master fire making techniques and apply fire to provide light.
This design is inspired by the traditional "turning wood for fire" and aims to combine its ancient and unique interaction with modern lighting fixtures to create a novel lighting method.
"Lumina Spindleis a combination of "Lumina" and "Spindle" in Latin, showcasing the meaning of light being ignited through rotational motion.

Tens of thousands of years ago, our ancestors learned to "turn wood to make fire", which symbolized humanity's efforts and wisdom to light up darkness and dispel fear and hardship. As a traditional craft and technology, it not only has practical value, but also carries rich cultural connotations.
In modern times, 'Turning wood to make fire' is almost no longer used in households, light bulbs provide artificial lighting, and humans no longer rely solely on natural light sources.
Lumina Spindle hopes to endow modern lighting fixtures with symbolic meaning and interaction from tens of thousands of years ago.
The traditional "turning wood to make fire" method uses two hands to rotate the stick to generate rotational friction. To make the interaction more reasonable, Lumina Spindle retains the core "friction" and simplifies the original two hands to one hand for use.
If a lamp is compared to a fire, the way to extinguish the fire is to isolate oxygen. Use your hands to isolate the oxygen around the light bulb, and the fire will go out!!!
